Project ERaaS

What can data centers do more in the fight against climate change besides reducing their own energy consumption and CO2 emissions? We have developed a vision called ‘Ecological Recovery as a Service’, in which data centers can play a key role.

To be truly sustainable, reducing greenhouse gases and energy consumption are not the only things we can do. These are just the first steps. An equal focus is required on ensuring that natural ecosystems can continue to function optimally. This is a powerful solution towards climate resilience.

The positive impact that data centers can have is enormous, as the challenges surrounding energy, heat, CO2 and disrupted weather patterns are ever increasing within the sector. With this research project we aim to support the data center industry towards becoming climate resilient by including nature-based solutions.

Our challenge

  • to unlock the potential of nature-based solutions for climate adaptation on a micro-climate level.
  • to highlight the costs and benefits of nature-based solutions for climate adaptation on a micro-climate level.

Contact us if you are interested in participating in the ERaaS initiative. We are looking for strategic partners that are active within the data center industry.
